The ongoing Government network modernization project will enhance service delivery

On January 19, the Chief Executive Officer of Rwanda Information Society Authority chaired the Government modernization project workshop to conduct ICT infrastructure assessment to understand the actual needs from the government institutions in order to be modernized and provide the global, physical design per site. The workshop brought together all Chief Digitization Officers, Business Analysts, Network Engineers and INFOSPHERE SYSTEMS LTD.  

In his opening remarks, the CEO of RISA called upon all public institutions to work together on the project in order to make Rwanda’s digital transformation journey a success and hence effective service delivery.

After the opening remarks by the CEO, participants were presented the project overview, its objectives and highlighting Government network infrastructure assessment. They further discussed the scope, deliverables, timelines and milestones of the network infrastructure. They ended up by finetuning the coordination of the network assessment exercise by clarifying the roles and responsibilities and nomination of focal point for each institution.

The workshop ended with a call for cooperation and teamwork from all public institutions in order to make the digital transformation a success hence effective service delivery

The objective of this project is to develop a safe government infrastructure environment architecture that will enable secure, uniform and cost-effective IT operations across Government institutions for a well-coordinated digital Government, improved performance and high-quality services.
