RISA STAFF JOINED RWAMAGANA CITIZENS FOR END OF NOVEMBER COMMUNITY WORK
On Saturday 25th November 2023, Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA) staff joined Rwamagana District citizens for end of November community work. They gathered in Rwamagana District, Rubona Sector, Karambi Cell where participants prepared a garden for Rubona TVET school’s dormitory on an area of 2000 sqm to prevent erosion.
The community work started at 8:00, RISA staff, State Minister in the Ministry of education, Rwamagana leaders along with citizens arrived on the site and started leveling the field nearby the dormitory where they also planted pasparum grasses for both erosion prevention and maintaining cleanliness around the school compound.
After the community work citizens and visitors were briefed about various government programs aiming at improving their welfare and socio – economic situation. The programs include fighting gender-based violence of any kind and child abuse, fighting corruption, among others. They were also sensitized about digital Ambassadors program and called upon to get trained by Digital Ambassadors to be able to get government services online without moving around to look for services. They were sensitized about “Make Make” scheme through which they can get smart phones by paying small amount of money on a monthly basis.
While talking to the media, the Chief Executive Office of Rwanda Information Society Authority Innocent Bagamba Muhizi said that the Digital Ambassadors’ program is in line with Government’s 7year program of digitizing government services and increasing citizens’ digital literacy rate so that they can be able to request services on their own.
