Public and private website developers trained on latest version of Typo3 CMS
Rwanda Information Society Authority, RISA, in partnership with GIZ Rwanda are conducting trainings on Typo3 Content Management System (CMS), with government institutions’ webmasters and IT personnel, grouped according to the level of access to the website. Three groups are targeted which include website developers, website administrators and website content managers from public and private sector.
The training serves to enable trainees to effectively maintain their respective institutions’ websites in updating and upgrading when required. The private sector has been considered for Typo3 training in order to equip them with required skills, enabling them to compete at local and international market in regard to website management.
Government Chief Innovation Officer for RISA, Antoine Sebera, officiated the training and emphasized that the outcome of this training will drive the standardization of the look and feel of government websites.
“Currently, every government agency has its own way of displaying information, therefore it is difficult to find important information on websites by a simple search, because they are not consistent. We want them (websites) to have a standard way of displaying government information” Sebera said.
The first 10 days of the training aims at empowering website developers with skills to upgrade, maintain and update their institutions’ respective websites and needful development where necessary.
Future sessions will involve website administrators and content managers from public and private institutions.
